From my experience working in various sector in the National Health Service (NHS) for over 8 years and most especially Children Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), the emphasis for holistic approach within community and placements remains glaring. Hence the need for enhanced steps in creating environment and spaces that permeates and constitutes to individual wellbeing through recognition of experiences, potential and capabilities whilst also empowering our young people to continually thrive by support provided within the community .

No health without mental health”. There is a contradiction of being the ultimate experts on our own mental health more than any area of health and we can be limited by our understanding of our individual experiences. It is imperative that people do not feel compounded by their socio economic status and environment hence the need for development of adequate skills required to reduce the further risk of poor mental health in our society. I aim to be an active part of this on a global scale.

They are various challenges being faced by young people in taking the step of independent living. The lack of facilities that support skill empowerment and active integration into a community are limited. The impact is negative on the development of an individuals potential. Every young person should have a safe and stable base to build their future. As a result I have teamed with others to create a pathway to enhance young people’s step to independent living through ESSS.
